The Story Behind Lotus

If you've ever driven down Bellaire Blvd in Houston or wandered through Austin's Chinatown Center on North Lamar, you know the feeling. Neon signs in a dozen languages, the smell of pho drifting from a strip mall, a bakery selling egg tarts next to a grocery with aisles of ingredients you can't find anywhere else.

Texas is home to some of the most diverse Asian food scenes in the country, but so many incredible spots fly under the radar, and the stories behind them go untold. Lotus exists to change that. We're building a platform that connects Asian communities, promotes Asian American culture, and helps everyone discover the restaurants, markets, bakeries, and tea shops that make our cities special. Starting in Houston and Austin, with more to come. Because food isn't just food. It's culture, it's identity, and it's how we bring people together.
